Resident Mom™ Says:

The Key Fit 30 Infant Carseat is fantastic. This is by far the easiest car seat I have ever used. First of all, the 5 point harness is so easy to use when you put your child in this seat. It has a harness adjuster on the front of the seat. All you have to do is press the big orange button and pull each of the harnesses to loosen them and when you want to tighten them, all you have to do is slowly pull the harness strap until your child is safely secured in the seat. How simple is that? There is no fidgeting with straps behind the seat to loosen and tighten, it is all at the front in plain view where you can see what you are doing. The best part about this car seat is installing the base. I was so suprised at how easy and quick the insallation was. I was so tired of putting rolled towels under the base of my son’s other car seat, but the base has a recline foot so you can adjust the angle of the base for correct installation.

All you do is press the two orange recline buttons on the sides of the base until the level indicator on each side shows the bubbles between the lines (it looks like one of those levelers you use when you are building shelves and you need to check and make sure it is safe and leveled). The other thing that impressed me was the shoulder belt lockoff in the base. If you dont have LATCH, not a problem. Just put your shouder belt through the lockoff and it locks your belt, which secures and stablizes your base. If you do have LATCH, the neat thing about the base is that it has storage pockets that you can store the connectors in. I was very pleased with the whole carseat and all of its’ neat features. I would recommend this carseat to any and everyone. I love it!!!

Pros: Easy to install; easy to put your child in the infant insert
Cons: My son seemed to sweat a little more in it, probably due to the material it is made from.

  1. The features mentioned in this review are the same as on my Peg Perego car seat. All are great features! The one feature I wish my Peg Perego car seat had that the Chicco has is the recline that the child sits at. My daughter sits more upright in my Peg Perego than my niece sits in the Chicco. My niece is laying back more with the design of the Chicco which would be preferable to me! I wish my daughter could recline more. All other car seats are at a recline more than ours that I’ve seen on the shelves. I LOVE my Peg Perego Skate stroller though and the ability to use the Peg Perego car seat on the stroller makes it worth it. The features outlined in this review though make the Chicco seem very worth buying!
