Mom and the Economy

These days, there’s very little positive news about the economy. Times are bleak and a lot of us are wondering when it’s going to get better! We wanted to ask moms just like you what they thought about the times we’re in, when they see a change happening, and the #1 way they were tightening their belts and saving money. The results were surprising!

Of over 1,200 moms polled on NewParent.com, this is what we found:

44% said they #1 way they are saving money is by NOT spending money on frivolous items, such as Starbucks and bottled water.

43.7% said they would be putting their pregnancy plans on hold because of the current state of the economy.

41.6% said they do not think the economy will get better before June, 2010.

Do you agree with what other moms are saying? Voice your opinion in the comments below!

  1. I do not agree that things won’t get better by June. The state in which we are in didn’t happen overnight and it will take more than a month or two to pull completely out of it. That said, we are already seeing things beginning to percolate. Small steps, but moving in the right direction. We look at this as an opportunity to spend quality time as a family and become more creative in what we do together that requires less money.
