Make a note in your calendar: If your child will be at least 6 months old by October or November, ask your doctor about flu shots for your baby. click here

Vaccines provide children with the best defense against such childhood diseases as polio, measles, mumps, rubella (German measles), pertussis (whooping cough), diphtheria, tetanus (lockjaw) and chicken pox. The chart below outlines the American Academy of Pediatrics' recommended schedule for immunization. the academy also recommends that all these vaccines be delivered by injection. In addition, you should check the organization's Web site (www.aap.org) and with your child's health care provider for updates or exceptions.
