All health isuernrs cover children, although most will state they have to be at least 30 days old first. Contact the mother’s state’s insurance commissioner’s office and ask for a list of isuernrs issuing individual policies there.Another possibility is the state’s Children’s Health Insurance plan (this is not the same as Medical Assistance or Medicaid). All states have this federal program. Contact the Dept. of Social Services in the county where the mother resides.
