Mom Says: Whether you like to be outside, need your hands free, or just have a clingy child that wants to be on the go with you, a backpack is handy! I have tried a few different backpacks. Some felt like I was carrying a load of bricks on my back. The Kokopax is great because it is comfortable, lightweight, and safe for baby. It also fits in overhead airline bins, which is a great plus for those traveling with a small child! I think the Kokopax is great for everyday on the go activities.

I recommend this backpack for short walks and everyday on the go activities, but not for long hikes. My husband and I like to walk/hike on the trails at the local State Park. I have used a few other backpacks when hiking before. The Kokopax did alright. After the first few miles it became a little uncomfortable. My only big complaint is that it does not have a strap around the waist. I think this would make the backpack more secure and comfortable for mom or dad! Overall it is a great product!

Pros: Lightweight (weighs less than 3 lbs), safe, comfortable, stylish, easy to travel with.
Cons: Pricey, not designed for hiking or strenuous exercise.

The bottle and liners were very simple to use, and my son loved them. He usually uses Dr. Brown’s bottles which are also made to reduce colic, but he seemed to like the nipple on this Playtex bottle better. It seemed closer to the real thing. The bottle has also been great on trips and errands because I just take the liner out and throw it away instead of bringing extra bottles!

Pros: BPA-free. Great for reducing colic. Great for travel.
Cons: For home use, I’d prefer to not have to buy liners.

Mustela Newborn Set

Mom Says:

I received and tested the Mustela Newborn Set, which included several bath and body products, as well as a bonus infant brush/comb set. The product arrived handsomely packaged in a vinyl tote containing a foam shampoo for newborns (to help prevent and make cradle cap disappear), a gel cleanser, a hydrating body lotion (to leave baby’s skin soft, smooth, and protected), a vitamin barrier diaper cream (to help prevent early signs of diaper rash and help reduce irritation), and my favorite – a one-step, soap-free, rinse-free gentle cleanser.

Each product is specially formulated for baby’s skin, so there is no worry of irritation or skin reaction. I was particularly fond of the light, pleasant scent each product had. In fact, even my husband commented on how he liked the clean, fresh smell.

My two-month-old daughter enjoyed bath time before, but she’s really enjoyed the extra pampering! The foaming shampoo has gotten rid of the little bit of flaky skin Karolena had on top of her little head, the gel cleanser and the body lotion have made her skin even more soft (if that’s possible!), and the one-step cleanser is perfect for quick cat baths on the go – just apply to baby’s skin, air dry, and go!

I definitely plan on purchasing Mustela products in the future, and can see why they are the #1 infant/toddler care brand in Europe!

Pros: Pleasant scent, feels fantastic on the skin, makes skin super soft and clean; would make an excellent gift for your little one or someone else’s.
Cons: Some of the Mustela products are a little pricey for consumers on a budget (worth the money though!).

Mom Says:

OK. I honestly can’t rave enough about this seat. Before I received this one, my 6-month-old was using a battery-operated bouncer that was the tackiest piece of furniture in my apartment. The vibrations would work, but I noticed my baby would get irritable whenever I tried to put her in the car seat or stroller. Ever since we’ve been using this one, she’s learned how to soothe herself wherever she is. This chair is great because it allows your baby to use their own movements to bounce/rock. You can put it in three different positions: Play, Rest, and Sleep. It’s so great to have those options…as soon as Lily (my daughter) gets tired when she’s in the Play position, it easily folds down to Sleep. The Sleep position is not flat down, which has also been wonderful for when she gets a stuffy nose. The Balance is also super-easy to take with you anywhere…it’s so light! I take it with me whenever I go over to a friend’s house for a playdate. And did I mention it looks great?? It’s very sleek and modern, yet simple (very Swedish, I guess!). I cannot recommend this product enough!

Pros: Looks great, my baby loves it, easy to transport.
Cons: I got a food stain on it and I haven’t been able to get it totally out. You really can’t notice it that much, though!

Mom Review: JJ Cole Diaper Bag

JJ Cole Mode Diaper Bag
Price: $59.95

Mom Says:

The mode bag is more than just a diaper bag. I would carry this bag even if I didn’t have a baby! In fact, there is no way this bag will ever make its way to the back of my closet!

Shopping with my son, let alone my other two, can be quite stressful. I constantly have to dig through the diaper bag for something, which is usually stuffed at the bottom of the stroller with shopping bags. With this bag’s easy removable stroller straps you can attach the bag right to the handles of the stroller. I can’t tell you how convenient it is to quickly access what I need. (Especially when one of kids are screaming!)

Personally, I carry everything with me but the kitchen sink. One of my favorite things about this bag is all of its pockets. There are six on the outside, and they are deep and secure with buttons and zippers. Then the inside even has different compartments for organizing everything. For once I have been able to pack a bag full and conveniently find everything. The best part is no matter how much stuff you shove inside (believe me, it can hold a lot), the bag doesn’t feel bulky when you carry it.

Pros: Durable, PVC free, easy to clean fabric, lots of organizing pockets and attachments.
Cons: None

Mom Says:

This diaper bag is by FAR the best I have ever seen, let alone used! It has a place for everything you could possibly need to have with you for your baby/toddler. I especially liked the insulated area to help keep his drink cold as well as the areas for mom’s stuff, too! It was really easy to attach it to the stroller for long walks at the park, as well.

Another great feature is the little “feet” at the bottom that are gripped so the diaper bag doesn’t slip or slide too much when you set it down. The strap easily adjusted for my husband’s use. The style of the diaper bag wasn’t feminine either. Since it is so neutral, my husband doesn’t mind carrying it around! Plus, that makes it great for a boy or a girl!

Pros: Lots of storage space, easy to keep everything organized.
Cons: It costs more than I care to pay for a diaper bag, but seems durable enough to last through 2-3 kids. So if you only want to pay for one diaper bag, but have multiple children, then it wouldn’t be so bad.
